Chemical Peel Aftercare
Chemical peels work by encouraging controlled exfoliation and skin renewal. Proper aftercare is critical to ensure safe healing and beautiful results.
First 24–48 Hours
Expect mild redness and tightness — this is completely normal and a sign the peel is working
Do NOT pick, peel, or scratch any flaking skin — let it shed naturally
Avoid all active ingredients including retinol, AHAs, BHAs, and vitamin C
Use only the products Nicole specifically recommends for your recovery
Avoid sun exposure completely — stay indoors or in shade as much as possible
Never pick or peel flaking skin. Pulling skin prematurely can cause scarring, hyperpigmentation, or infection.
Days 3–7 (Peeling Phase)
Flaking and peeling is completely normal — let it happen naturally without interference
Keep skin moisturized constantly to support the shedding process
Use SPF 50 every single time you go outside — your new skin is extremely vulnerable to UV damage
Avoid makeup on actively peeling areas if possible to prevent irritation
Do not exfoliate — your skin is already exfoliating itself from the peel
Days 7–14 (Recovery)
Your skin will start to feel noticeably smoother and fresher as new skin emerges
Continue using gentle, hydrating products only — no harsh ingredients yet
Gradually reintroduce your regular routine only as Nicole advises
Avoid harsh actives (retinol, glycolic acid) until cleared by your aesthetician
Nicole's Tip
The peeling phase is where the magic happens. It may not look pretty, but resist the urge to help it along. Your patience will be rewarded with smoother, brighter, more even-toned skin.
